Christie Park in Alexandria
Christie Park lies in the heart of the village of Alexandria, roughly about a mile from Loch Lomond and only a short drive from the leading road network of the A82. Christie Park is a total of 14 acres and has what you would expect a natural community park to have: Lawns, gardens that up around 9 acres and then a wilder woodland embankment, roughly 5 acres in size. Christie Park has a beautiful selection of flowers, especially in the spring and summer months, with outstanding bed displays.
Christie Park is one of those unique places in Alexandria where you can walk around the park within your walking group, exercise yourself with a daily routine, or head into the park for some "me time". There are always new flowers and plants growing depending on the time of year, and when the sun is out, it is one of the unique parks in West Dunbartonshire.
For the children of Alexandria, there is so much they can do in the park, with all the climbing frames, swings etc., available to use halfway up the park from the main street entrance. There is another entrance to the park to the side of Vale of Leven Bowling Club, away from Main Street, and there is quite a lot of parking available in this area if you can at the right time of day.
