Lomond Parish Church

Lomond Parish Church was built during the 1960s and is a modern-day church. In 2006 disabled access to the church was added, giving the church full access to everyone. The church can hold up to 250 people and has a hearing loop system to make it easier for everyone to hear the minister. A full AV system was added in 2021.

We have been a vacant charge since the union between Alexandria Parish and Jamestown Parish in 2019, but well served by our interim moderator, Rev Ian Miller. We hope to be able to recruit a new minister in autumn 2023.

Services are every Sunday at 11.30 am, and for the children, Sunday School meets up during this service. This is shown live on Lomond Parish Church YouTube channel (External Link) if you cannot attend.

Holy Communion takes place on the first Sunday of the following months: February, June and October.

On the first and third Wednesdays of each month we hold a Bite and Blether Lunch Club, an opportunity for those living on their own to meet socially over a home-cooked lunch. It is open to anyone in the Vale of Leven – contact Anne Dann on 07999957581. On the last Saturday of each month we open the Bookroom Café from 10:30-12:30pm. We are a Gold Award holder from Eco-Congregation Scotland and care passionately for Creation.

There are many areas around the church that are available to hire, including a large hall holding up to 200 people and a lesser hall that will seat between 40-50 people. We also have a smaller chapel which provide a smaller worship area and meeting space. This is also ideal for smaller weddings. We also have the Lennox Hall in Jamestown available for community use. All our halls are in regular use by over fifteen community organisations involving local youth groups, fitness/dance classes, singing groups. Lomond Community Gardens and Allotments Association run the gardens at the rear of the church. If you are interested in having a plot contact their secretary by email to lomondallotments@gmail.com

Car Park Facilities

The car park has five disabled bays adjacent to the church and hall entrances and marked spaces for a further 35 cars. There is a cross-hatched area in front of the entrance to the church and a disabled ramp to allow access for emergency vehicles. When car park is full, there is on-street parking on south-side of Lomond Rd, on Balloch Road, or at Lomond Shores.
