New comedy club in West Dunbartonshire area - The Happy Hour Comedy Club, Vale of Leven Bowling Club, Thursday 18 June 2026
Muirhead-based comedian Harun Musho'd is adding a new stand-up comedy club in Scotland. The Happy Hour Comedy Club will be launching a comedy night at Vale of Leven Bowling Club on 18 June with Viv Gee, Peter Bell and three supporting acts. Both Harun and Vale of Leven Bowling Club are interested in making these regular nights. The Happy Hour Comedy Club already operates a regular, successful and sold-out night from Stepps Bowling Club in North Lanarkshire, and Harun plans to expand Happy Hour Comedy Club nights in towns and villages across Scotland that don't have access to regular comedy nights. Comedy stars such as Jay Lafferty, Raymond Mearns, Vladimir McTavish, Billy Kirkwood and Viv Gee have either performed or are booked to perform at the Stepps Bowling Club edition of the Happy Hour Comedy Club.
Harun said: "Glasgow and Edinburgh are well served by permanent comedy clubs such as the Stand, Glee and Monkey Barrel, but smaller towns and villages can't support permanent clubs and may be losing out on seeing most of the professional comedians in Scotland and the UK. The Happy Hour comedy Club will be a touring event that visits smaller places to plug that gap and introduce more people to the vibrant joy of club stand-up comedy. The comedy event in Alexandria is another step on this journey. Other social clubs and pubs are already showing interest in hosting similar nights."
The Happy Hour Comedy Club was Harun's London-based comedy club between 2015 and 2018, which provided early opportunities for comedians to develop their acts, such as TV and radio stars Nigel Ng, Cally Beaton, Catherne Bohart, Athena Kugblenu, Sindhu Vee, Alasdair Beckett-King, Sikisa, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Mark Silcox and others.
Harun Musho'd started performing stand-up comedy in 2013 as a 46-year-old mature student at Royal Holloway University, whilst also working as an HR manager in the House of Commons. Harun now performs regularly at professional comedy clubs, including Glee Clubs, the Stand-up Comedy Club, Monkey Barrel and the Stand. He is currently a trustee of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society. He lives in Glasgow. He has taken four solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and is also the co-host of the sell-out Edinburgh Fringe hit comedy show A Political Breakfast.
