ALEXANDRIA CC'S LETTER TO SCOTRAIL WITH REGARDS TO SERVICE IN BALLOCH
Dear Sir/Madam,
On behalf of commuters, Alexandria Community Council draft this letter about our concerns and local residents’ anger about the Scotrail services that operate on the Balloch line which passes Alexandria.
Many people are frustrated with the reported delays and cancellations which allegedly happen on a regular basis affecting many people travelling to work, school, shopping and visiting family. The service is also popular with tourists from all over the world travelling to Balloch so will affect many visitors to the area.
There have also been major concerns about passenger safety relating to reported anti-social behaviour which is deterring many people accessing the service.
With recent bus service changes, Scotrail is now the only direct link between Alexandria and Glasgow, including Clydebank.
We ask that you provide information on what efforts are being made to deal with these concerns, especially in light of the ticket prices paid by passengers. Regards,
Harry McCormack
Secretary
Alexandria Community Council
