Tullichewan Tenants & Residents Association Chairperson June 2024 Update
***CHAIRPERSON UPDATE – JUNE 2024***
The year has passed the half-way point as Tullichewan TRA remain active in the community.
As already announced, our committee member Jean Mackay will start running a new weekly “Children’s Craft Group” which will begin on Saturday 20th July 2024 from 12 noon to 2pm at the Community Flat. The group is aimed for 5 to 12 year olds and must be accompanied by a responsible adult all times. This follows lengthy discussions with West Dunbartonshire Council Tenant Participation and other agencies under health and safety and public liability insurance. Any enquiries contact Facebook page or call 01389 605364.
Another two successful walkabouts have taken place this month. The first one which was hosted by Tullichewan TRA on Wednesday 5th June 2024 where we visited all the maisonette buildings. There were many issues raised from this which was taken forward. WDC walkabout took place on Thursday 27th June 2024 where new and historic issues were raised including recent alleged anti-social behaviour at the Bannachra Crescent greenspace. Mid-meeting review on all the matters raised has been arranged for Thursday 11th July 2024.
On Saturday 1st June 2024, WDC Tenant Participation hosted a “Tenant Event” at Clydebank Town Hall which focussed on tenant involvement including TRAs. As an example of how TRAs can be run, I hosted a presentation on Tullichewan TRA, showing our community’s great work for the benefit of the area. This generated much interest and discussion.
