Vale of Leven Academy held its Senior Celebration of Success Ceremony
Vale of Leven Academy held its Senior Celebration of Success Ceremony on Friday 13th October. All S5 and S6 students attended and awards were presented by recently retired Jacqui Black, a well-respected and much loved member of the office team. Jacqui retired last month after 30 years of service within West Dunbartonshire and we were all delighted that she came to our ceremony. As well as celebrating academic achievements from the 2023 SQA exam diet, students were also recognised for a range of extra-curricular initiatives. Special awards ranged from STEM, Sporting and Expressive Arts Awards to anti-bullying student leadership, Citizenship and Employability Awards.
Head Teacher, Matthew Boyle, said: “Our Senior Awards ceremony is a highlight of our school year and recognition of all our students who have worked hard in their studies both within and outwith school. All of our prize-winners make school-life better with their commitment to their learning and taking part with enthusiasm, whether it is in sport, academic learning, vocational training or in work placements with local organisations, they have made us all very proud and it’s wonderful to celebrate their achievements at this annual event.”
