Alexandria Cc Letter Sent To Lloyds Banking Group In Relation To The Scheduled Closure Of Bank Of Scotland Alexandria Branch On March 2026

Dear Sir/Madam,

Alexandria Community Council would like to express our disappointment in the announcement of the closure of the local branch at 133 Main Street, Alexandria, G83 0NX scheduled for 2nd March 2026.

Following a series of closures elsewhere, this facility remains the last physical banking service in our town.

While we understand that technology has advanced considerably in terms of how people and businesses do their banking, it is incredibly short-sighted and ignorant to believe that this is inclusive to all. Many people do not have access to online facilities including the elderly and the vulnerable. This assumption is wrong and inconsiderate to customer need.

We recommend a re-think and reversal of this decision.
