** VALE OF LEVEN HOSPITAL UPDATE – NHS GREATER GLASGOW & CLYDE ** (From VALE NEWS)
**Community Maternity Unit Update**
After recent media reports we’d like to reassure the local community that a few temporary changes to services at the Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit have been made, the majority are unaffected.
Our Community midwifery services, including antenatal clinics at the Vale of Leven and other local clinics, remain in place as well as the postnatal home visiting service.
And our consultant-led antenatal clinics at the Vale of Leven are also ongoing, and early pregnancy services for women already being cared for at the Vale of Leven remain in place.
We apologise to anyone who has been affected by the changes that have been made and while we understand concerns have been raised, we'd like to reassure the community that we are doing our utmost to support pregnant women and our staff at this time.
At all times our focus is on the care and welfare of women and that's why we are making sure that other sites in NHSGGC which offer the same high-quality services and expertise are being used to care for the local community.
We are constantly reviewing the situation and making sure that the individual pregnant women involved are kept updated as best we can and that alternative arrangements are being made to ensure the high standards of patient care that are expected of us are met.
We know that our staff are working extremely hard during this time - for which we'd like to thank them again - and we are working towards restoring services as soon as it is possible to do so.
