Alexandria Community Council Update: 10th June 2023
***WDC COMMUNICATION CULTURE***
Alexandria CC would like to express our appreciation to West Dunbartonshire Council for their support from the Communities Team and from some of the local Councillors who keep us updated as much as possible.
However the "communication culture" remains at WDC in some departments. This refers to lack of/no response from enquiring emails.
We do not necessarily expect immediate answers but we do expect acknowledgement that our email has been received and will be actioned.
Recent experience of this is our enquiries into Mitchell Way Demolition process (which in the end needed the Communities Team to intervene which eventually got a response from WDC Regeneration "second-hand"). This led to requesting an update from WDC Councillors which Councillor Martin Rooney, Leader of the Council kindly provided.
More recently it has been communication with WDC Greenspace regarding Christie Park toilets has so far hasn't progressed except from some information from Councillor Jim Bollan.
This is not acceptable and Alexandria CC demand for better.
The community's trust in WDC is currently at a very frail state and will never recover until this culture is improved.
